SAFETY

The Stinger Spike System is a safety closure system applied by law enforcement agencies such as the Gendarmerie, Police, and Military units to light and medium commercial vehicles that do not comply with the “STOP” warning.

Using precision-engineered steel spikes, it quickly deflates target vehicle tires, causing the vehicle to come to a controlled stop within a few meters. This human-rights compliant technology ensures suspect apprehension while minimizing risks to law enforcement and bystanders.

Maintenance Guide
After the spike strip is deployed and recovered, all necessary inspections and required repairs must be performed before use.
The spike strip should be fully extended to check for missing, loose, or damaged spikes; all loose spikes must be tightened and missing ones must be replaced. Loose connection screws must be tightened.
If one or more of the sections where the spikes are attached are damaged, it does not mean the spike strip cannot be used. Only the damaged sections are removed and the remaining parts are reassembled. Although the spike strip is shortened, it can be used until the damaged section is repaired.
Petroleum-based cleaners should not be used on the spike strip and its carrying case.
Shake the spike strip before folding so that materials such as grass and stones stuck in between fall out, allowing it to be folded easily.
Place all accessories into the slots inside the case.
The spike strip should be kept in the vehicle so that it can be easily accessed when needed.
The spike strip should be opened and inspected once a year.
