USING TECHNIQUES

Pavement Edge LayIng Method

Used where there is high traffic or limited time. Requires a visible position for the personnel.

Step 01
Remove from bag, take position where suspect and patrols can be clearly seen.
Step 02
When vehicle is seen, slide unit to the road from the pavement while holding the rope.
Step 03
Specify escape zone. Hold rope tight as it unfastens from base.
Step 04
Immediately pull back the trap after the suspect passes.

Across-Street PullIng Method

Best for multi-lane coverage when there is sufficient time for setup.

Lay the unit on one side and walk the rope across to the other side.
Keep the trap closed on the asphalt while observing approaching cars.
When target is near, pull strongly to open the trap across all lanes.
